🌱 April 22 to become the International Day of Greening the Planet

The UN General Assembly has supported Kazakhstan’s initiative to designate April 22 as the International Day of Greening the Planet.

The initiative was proposed by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in September 2025 during the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. The resolution was co-sponsored by 32 countries from different regions of the world.

The new international day aims to draw greater attention to:

🌿 restoration of natural ecosystems

🌳 expansion of green spaces

🌍 environmental protection

♻️ development of environmental awareness

The initiative is also in line with Kazakhstan’s nationwide environmental campaign “Taza Kazakhstan.”

For Kazakhstan, this is another important contribution to the global environmental agenda and international cooperation in sustainable development.
