The Green Future of Astana: The Charter on Greening of the Capital is Being Planned in 2024

Partner of the Flora Expo Astana exhibition, the head of the Urban Studies Center of the Akimat of Astana, Elnar Bazyken, in an interview with Atameken Business told about plans to create a Charter for greening the city. This document is intended to improve the quality of landscaping and includes comprehensive rules, requirements and recommendations concerning all aspects of urban life.

The importance of this Charter, according to Bazyken, lies in the systematization of landscaping plans for streets, neighborhoods and courtyards. He outlined that many developers pay little attention to landscaping and landscaping, focusing exclusively on putting objects into operation. The Charter will contribute to improving the situation, especially with regard to industrial and large infrastructure facilities.

Bazyken also said that more than one million green spaces were planted in Astana this year, including 100 thousand planted by developers. Future plans envisage an increase in this indicator, which is part of a broader goal to improve the environmental situation in the city.

For more detailed information about the Landscaping Charter, we recommend visiting the presentation of Elnar Bazyken at the Landscape Design Forum within the framework of Flora Expo Astana from April 10 to 12, 2024. At this event, Bazyken will talk in detail about the Concept and the Statute of Landscaping, providing expert knowledge and perspectives for specialists in the field of urbanism and landscape design. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions to the speaker and hold a dialogue on current topics.
