In the Akimat of Astana, on behalf of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the transformation of the capital into a "garden city", a concept for landscaping the city's territory has been developed with further approval of a point strategy for the next 5 years.
It will be supplemented by the project "scheme of development and greening of public space of the city until 2030" (indicating annually actually landscaped streets, parks, squares, planting dates, species composition of green spaces, etc.). The concept is aimed at providing conditions for the creation of a sustainable and efficient landscaping system, in which the basic principles and directions of strategic urban development of the urban landscaping system have been developed, taking into account modern approaches and methods of optimizing the urban environment, aimed at accessibility and human comfort in an urbanized environment.
This year, the financing of the greening of the city has been doubled.
Also this year, about 1 million green spaces will be planted, including more than 452 thousand on the territory of the city and more than 457 thousand on the territory of the "green belt". The areas of sowing and their species composition have been determined. Landscaping works will be continued during the autumn planting and the autumn ecological month "Green Astana".
